Taco Stack-Ups

2 lb. hamburger – browned
2 tsp. onion powder
¼ tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. cumin
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. oregano
Salt
Pepper
2 6 oz. cans tomato sauce
2 8 oz. cans tomato paste
4¼ cups water
½ – 2/3 uncooked rice, or 2 cups cooked rice (omit water)

Mix and simmer until rice is cooked (at least an hour).  Serve with chips, cheese, lettuce, salsa, sour cream, tomatoes, onions, black olives, whatever else your heart desires.


This is our go-to “feed a crowd” meal.  We’ll throw four 2 lb. packages of hamburger in the roaster and make a huge batch.  If we don’t have a crowd to feed we’ll freeze the extra and eat it for a month.  Or not even that long – we really like this meal.
